Face lift is a procedure rejuvenating the face and neck. The surgery consists of removing excess skin and fatty tissue and correcting the sagging seen in the face and neck. The facelift produces a more youthful appearance by improving the sagging of the soft tissues of the face. A facelift cannot remove all facial wrinkles as some lines are due to the action of facial muscles over the years which can alternatively be smoothed out with botulism toxin. The wrinkles frequently found around the lips are not affected by a facelift.

Facelift is a surgery that usually involves an incision that starts at the temple and along the natural skin crease in front of the ear and up behind the earlobe backwards along the hairline or into the scalp behind the ear.

This type of surgery is done as a “day surgery” and often people prefer to have this surgery done either under intravenous sedation or under a general anaesthetic. Oozing and swelling is expected after the first week of surgery.
